Shaker Bar & Bev. Co. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to shakerbarandbev.com.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some portions of the Site may not yet fully meet that standard; where we find shortfalls, we work to address them.
Known exceptions
We publish these rather than leave them unstated:
- Text over photographs in page headers and on the home page. These headings, breadcrumbs, and intro lines sit on photography with a partial dark overlay. The large headings meet the 3:1 contrast minimum for large text, but the smaller breadcrumb and intro text fall below the 4.5:1 minimum for body text on our lighter photographs. Every one of these is a heading, a navigational breadcrumb that is also available in the page structure, or an introductory summary restated in the body copy below it, so no information is available only there.
Measures We Take
- We consider accessibility in our design and content decisions.
- We use semantic HTML structure and provide text alternatives for meaningful images where practical.
- We review the Site periodically and make improvements as we identify barriers.
