What is the difference between a batch cocktail and a made-to-order one?
A batch cocktail is mixed in advance in five-gallon volume and served from a dispenser — 75 servings for $400, with the dispenser, ice, cups, straws and garnishes included. It moves fast, which is why it suits a wedding: a queue of 40 people is served in minutes rather than one shake at a time.
A made-to-order cocktail is shaken or built per guest, which is why it costs more: $600 for 100 servings. Espresso martinis, a French 75, an Aperol spritz, a Manhattan or a smoked old fashioned only really work this way. Many couples do both — a batched signature for volume, and one made-to-order drink as the moment.
Can we design our own drink?
Yes. Custom made-to-order cocktails are quoted individually, and if you choose a signature you are invited to a tasting. If you are buying your own alcohol, Shaker can supply just the base and you bring the spirit.
How many batches do we need?
Each batch is 75 servings. As a rough planning figure, count on guests having a drink or two from a signature over the night rather than drinking only that — so a 150-guest wedding usually lands on two batches if the signature is the headline drink, one if it sits alongside a full bar. The estimator on the pricing page lets you test both.
What it costs

Specialty & Signature Cocktails: common questions
What is a batch cocktail?
A cocktail mixed in advance in five-gallon volume and served from a dispenser — 75 nine-ounce servings for $400, including the dispenser, ice, cups, straws and garnishes. It serves a queue of 40 people in minutes rather than one shake at a time.
That speed is why batching suits a wedding. The moment after the ceremony is when everyone wants a drink simultaneously, and a batched signature is the only way to serve a signature drink at that pace.
What signature cocktails can we choose from?
Eight signatures: The Elder Sour, Blackberry Kentucky Lemonade, Rose All Day, Blood Orange Paloma, Buzzy Bee, Tequila Tango, Blue Lagoon Margarita and Love on the Coast. Margaritas come in seven flavours including prickly pear, spicy pineapple and watermelon.
Can we create our own cocktail?
Yes. Custom made-to-order cocktails are quoted individually, and if you choose a signature you are invited to a tasting before the wedding.
What is the difference between batch and made-to-order cocktails?
Batch is pre-mixed and dispensed: $400 for 75 servings. Made-to-order is built per guest: $600 for 100 servings. Drinks like espresso martinis, a French 75, an Aperol spritz or a smoked old fashioned only work made-to-order.
Many couples do both — a batched signature to handle volume, and one made-to-order drink as a moment during the evening.
